N-Chlorotaurine (NCT) is a promising anti-infective medicine that can be used in many body regions, including sensitive ones, due in part to its mild but sufficient activity, inactivation of toxins, local enhancement of microbicidal effects by exudate, and very good tolerability with no systemic distribution. These features encouraged researchers to investigate the usability of NCT as an agent for the treatment of infections in human medicine.
